A Year of Development and Growth at Ammar Machinery
By Eng. Mohamad Mahmoud – Chief Operating Officer, Ammar Machinery
When I began my responsibility in operations management at Ammar Machinery, I joined an organization with decades of accumulated industrial experience and strong technical expertise in manufacturing chocolate wrapping and labeling machines.
This experience did not begin with us. It is the result of many years of work, learning, development, and contribution from the company’s founders, previous management teams, and employees.
From the beginning, it was important to me that we preserve this foundation and build on it rather than start over.
During the past period, we focused on continuing what had already been built, organizing several operational, commercial, and digital areas, and introducing tools and methods that could help the company work with greater clarity, consistency, and scalability.
The main objective was to transform the existing experience into a more integrated system—one that benefits from the strength of the past while preparing the company for the next stage of growth.
Strengthening Quality and Final Inspection Systems
Quality has always been an essential part of Ammar Machinery’s work.
During the past period, we focused on strengthening this area through better organization and documentation of inspection processes before shipment.
Greater attention was given to standardizing final inspections, reviewing customer requirements, and documenting the approval stages before any machine leaves the factory.
This reflects one of the principles we are committed to:
No machine leaves the factory before the final inspection is completed and approved.
The goal was not to change the company’s existing approach to quality, but to make it clearer, more measurable, and better documented.
Improving the Presentation of Machines and Technical Specifications
Ammar Machinery has developed a broad range of technical solutions and expertise over many years.
During this stage, we worked on improving how these products are documented and how their technical specifications are presented.
This includes chocolate wrapping machines, Band Seal and Sheet Band systems, labeling machines, feeding systems, and paper preparation equipment.
We focused on making technical information clearer and easier to use, both for customers and for our internal teams.
Key specifications include production speed, product dimensions, compatible wrapping materials, mold changeover time, power requirements, and operating method.
Developing a More Structured Machine Selection Process
The company has always had strong practical experience in understanding customer products and identifying the right machines for them.
During the past period, we worked on turning this experience into a more structured and transparent process.
Instead of focusing only on the machine requested by the customer, we now place greater emphasis on understanding the product itself: its dimensions, shape, thickness, wrapping material, sealing method, required production speed, and the number of product sizes that need to run on the same machine.
The most suitable solution is then recommended based on these factors.
In this way, we are able to take the technical knowledge accumulated within the company over many years and present it to customers through a clearer and more organized process.
Improving the Customer Experience
Another important area of focus has been improving the customer experience from the first point of contact through delivery.
We worked on improving how we present technical information, quotations, answers to inquiries, and information related to machine operation, testing, wrapping materials, training, and after-sales service.
The objective is for the customer to receive a complete and clear picture that helps them make the right decision—not simply a commercial offer.
Working with customers across different markets has also allowed us to benefit from the company’s previous experience and further improve our understanding of the requirements of chocolate manufacturers operating in different environments and markets.
Developing the Company’s Digital Presence
One of the areas that has seen significant development during this period is Ammar Machinery’s digital presence.
We worked on reorganizing major parts of the company website and improving machine pages, technical specifications, Arabic and English content, project pages, certifications, frequently asked questions, and technical articles.
We also worked on improving the website structure from an SEO, information architecture, and user experience perspective.
The goal is for our digital presence to reflect the real level of experience that exists within the company and for the website to become a useful resource that helps customers understand our solutions rather than simply serving as an equipment catalog.
Content That Reflects Real Experience
We also focused on transforming the knowledge and experience available within the company into useful content for customers.
We began giving greater attention to the questions that customers actually ask:
Which machine is suitable for this product?
What production speed can be achieved?
Which wrapping material should be used?
How long does a mold change take?
Can several product sizes run on the same machine?
How does the machine perform in a real production environment?
For this reason, videos, completed projects, production images, and customer experiences have become a more important part of how we present the company and its solutions.
Highlighting International Experience
Ammar Machinery has a long history of working with customers across many international markets.
During this stage, we worked on documenting this experience and presenting it more effectively.
A machine operating successfully inside a customer’s factory in another country is strong evidence of the company’s capabilities.
For this reason, we have placed greater emphasis on presenting real projects, customer experiences, and actual machine applications.
The goal was not to create a new image for the company, but to present the experience that already exists in a clearer and more professional way.
Digital Transformation and Supporting Future Growth
At the same time, we continued developing the company’s internal digital systems and making greater use of tools that help organize information and connect it with daily operations.
We focused on improving access to information and creating stronger links between products, customers, sales, services, and operational processes.
These steps are a natural continuation of the company’s development journey and help make future growth more organized, scalable, and sustainable.
What I Learned During This Stage
One of the most important lessons I have learned through this experience is that developing a company does not necessarily mean replacing what already exists or rebuilding everything from the beginning.
In many cases, the real strength is already there—in the experience, the people, and the way the company has been built over many years.
The role of management is to recognize that strength, preserve it, and then add the systems and tools that allow it to operate more efficiently and become more visible.
Sometimes development can simply mean a technical specification that is documented more accurately.
Or an inspection process that becomes clearer.
Or information that becomes available to a larger part of the team.
Or a website page that represents a product more accurately.
Or a better way of communicating with a customer.
Each of these improvements may appear small individually, but when they accumulate, they become part of meaningful and sustainable development.
The Next Stage
What has been achieved during the past period represents a continuation of a journey that began many years ago, not a separate beginning.
We will continue developing our products, quality systems, customer experience, technical content, digital systems, and international presence.
We will also continue exploring how data, automation, and modern technologies can support the company’s growth while preserving the industrial experience and values on which Ammar Machinery was built.
My vision is for us to continue combining the experience of the past, the strength of the present, and better preparation for the future.
I believe that the best kind of development within any company is development that respects what has already been achieved, learns from it, and then builds something stronger for the next stage.
I would also like to thank everyone who has contributed to building Ammar Machinery throughout the years, as well as every member of our team who continues to contribute to this journey and its development today.
